PREP

Body panels are cleaned, sanded and then seal coated for final refinishing.

Areas of the unibody that have been damaged also need to be prepared for painting. After pulling the unibody (frame) to spec, the panels are either straighten to orginal form or removed and replaced. Like the body panels the frame rails also need the same attention otherwise corrosion will occur.

MASK AND PREP

Vehicle is then moved into the priming area and primed using an acid etching rust-inhibiting primer.

Vehicle is then water block sanded using progressively finer sanding grits, examined to insure a smooth flawless surface, free of irregularities.

Surface of vehicle is thoroughly inspected, high pressure washed and treated to remove grease, tar, smudges, silicon, and any other contamination that may inhibit a quality paint application and finish.

If necessary, door jambs and inner edges are painted prior to the exterior surface application of paint.

Areas are taped, bagged and masked off, cleaned again, blown off with compressed air and then placed inside of the downdraft paint booth where vehicle will be blown off again and washed with solvents to ensure a quality finish.

PAINT

Vehicle is then sprayed with up to seven coats of paint (including the clear coating) depending on color, make and model. Vehicle is then carefully de-masked.
